Maryland Wear & Carry Permit Training - Full Two-Day Course Special: 310.00 for multi-concealed carry permits

Smok’n Down Range Academy & Gun Club offers professional training in a safe and inclusive environment with courses for those with basic to advanced firearms knowledge and skill. Immediate training opportunities include two-day training (16 hours) as required by Maryland for those interested in the Maryland Wear and Carry Permit. Receive in-person, specialized training and instruction on carry procedures, the technical and legal regulations and the use of force.

Location: Courses are held in our training center, located at 9800 Good Luck Road in Lanham, MD 20706. Live fire will be conducted at Cindy’s Hot Shot

Training is held from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Course Instruction: Civilian Wear and Carry Training Class Maryland State Police Wear and Carry Training Course

• Maryland Firearms Laws pertaining to who can possess a firearm and who is prohibited from possessing a firearm & the application requirements and process

• State and Federal Firearms Laws pertaining to self defense, defense of others and defense of property

• State and Federal Laws pertaining to the safe storage of firearms to include home firearm safety & gun handling, parts, operations and cleaning and maintenance

• The Requirements and options for surrendering, transferring, or otherwise disposing of a firearm after becoming prohibited from possessing a firearm under State or Federal Law

• Requirements for reporting a loss or theft of a firearm to a Law Enforcement Agency as required by law

• The law prohibiting the straw purchase of a firearm

• The law concerning armed trespass under 6-411 of the criminal law article

• The locations where a person is prohibited from possessing a firearm regardless of whether a person possesses a wear and carry permit

• Handgun (revolver/semi-automatic) nomenclature and safe operation

• Conflict de-escalation and resolution

• Dealing with anger management & suicide prevention

• Live Fire Session - 70% rating to qualify **Live fire session is completed at a shooting range with availability and in proximity to the training center. Participants who have a firearm are encouraged to bring it and those who do not, a firearm will be loaned or leasing is an option for an additional fee.

Attending in-class training and instruction offers you one-on-one engagement with our certified instructor and the opportunity to receive individualized assistance during the live fire session, with the application process and licensing in other states.
